Lace Lichen {R. Menziesii};

Description: Also known as Spanish moss, this lichen grows long, soft strands that resemble fabric with an intricate netted pattern. Strands can grow up to one meter in length. They range in color from yellowish-green to greyish-green.

Habitat: Found in western North America from central Baja California to southern Alaska at elevations ranging from sea level to 3,500 feet. This lichen tends to prefer the more moist coastal areas and can be absent from drier regions.
